A year of public healthcare crises told through a collection of sometimes wildly inappropriate bangers.
It's been quite a year for public healthcare in Aotearoa.
As the reports, headlines and stories rolled in, the news seemed to get progressively worse. Hospital pressures, extreme workforce shortages, day patients struggling to access care, and political decisions that left us scratching our heads.
So, naturally, we turned to music.
Throughout the year, we've leaned on the musical talents of everyone from Cypress Hill to Gloria Estefan, Rage Against the Machine to Ray Parker Jr., to help soften the blow of some truly grim healthcare news.
Every meeting, Roady stop, political no-show and fresh healthcare outrage seemed to deserve its own soundtrack. Some choices were obvious. Others were wildly inappropriate.
And now we've gathered them all in one place.
Presenting A Health System in Crisis, the Kaitiaki Hauora playlist.
A little musical light relief for election week, because while the state of our public healthcare system is no laughing matter, sometimes you've just got to find something to laugh about.
Enjoy. And don't forget to Vote for Health.
